About Our “Retreats”

Our Mission

Invisible Hurts exists to provide women with a safe, compassionate place to heal after betrayal, abuse, loss, and life’s deepest disappointments.

Through beautiful one-day retreats, practical tools, meaningful connection, and ongoing community, we help women rediscover hope, rebuild confidence, and believe that their story is not over.

Whether you come with faith, questions, or simply a longing to heal… you are welcome here.

No woman should have to heal alone.

Not in New England? Join Us Live From Home!

Whether you join us in person or online, you’ll leave feeling seen, supported, and encouraged—with practical tools, meaningful connections, renewed hope, and the confidence to believe that your story is not over.

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Betrayal has a way of shaking everything we thought we knew. Whether you’ve experienced infidelity, emotional betrayal, deception, abandonment, or another painful breach of trust, the wounds can leave you questioning your worth, your future, and even your ability to trust again.

This beautiful one-day retreat offers a safe, compassionate place to begin healing. Through inspiring teaching, practical tools, meaningful discussions, and genuine connection with women who understand, you’ll begin to move beyond the pain of betrayal and discover that hope, peace, and joy are still possible.

If you’re ready to stop merely surviving and begin moving toward healing, this retreat was created with you in mind.

Broken trust doesn’t have to write the rest of your story.

Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined.

Perhaps illness, chronic pain, an unexpected diagnosis, an accident, infertility, or another life-altering event changed the future you thought you would have.

Along with the physical challenges often comes another kind of grief—the loss of dreams, independence, identity, or the life you once envisioned.

This beautiful one-day retreat offers a safe place to acknowledge those losses while gently discovering hope for the road ahead.

Through inspiring teaching, practical tools, meaningful conversations, and compassionate connection with others who truly understand, you’ll find encouragement to embrace life as it is today while believing that beauty, purpose, and joy are still possible.

This retreat is especially meaningful for anyone living with chronic illness, medical trauma, disability, infertility, caregiving responsibilities, or any unexpected life circumstance that has changed the course of your future.

The life you planned may have changed… but your story is not over.

There are few pains deeper than loving a child you can no longer reach.

Whether the estrangement is recent or has lasted for years, this retreat offers a place where your grief is understood.

Together, we’ll explore healthy boundaries, process complicated emotions, learn practical tools for navigating this painful journey, and discover ways to continue living a full and meaningful life while carrying the love you still have for your child.

You’ll be surrounded by others who truly understand this unique kind of heartbreak—people who won’t ask you to “just get over it” or pretend everything is okay. Through guided discussions, personal reflection, and meaningful connection, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of estrangement, renewed strength for the road ahead, and the comforting reminder that you are not walking this journey alone.

Whether reconciliation comes someday or not, healing is possible—and you don’t have to walk this road alone.

A Gentle Christmas

Join us for a beautiful afternoon as we celebrate the joy and wonder of the Christmas season.

You’ll be welcomed with a beautifully prepared traditional high tea featuring savory favorites, seasonal desserts, specialty teas, and festive holiday beverages.

Together we’ll enjoy Christmas music and a sing-along, create a meaningful holiday craft, hear from our special guest, and spend the afternoon surrounded by laughter, friendship, and the warmth of the season.

Whether Christmas is a time of celebration or one that carries a measure of heartache, our hope is that you’ll leave feeling refreshed, encouraged, and reminded that you don’t have to walk through the holidays alone.

We’re delighted to welcome our special guest, Lynda Simmons of Bedford, New Hampshire, affectionately nicknamed “The Queen of Bedford” by those who know and love her.

Lynda is not only one of my dearest friend’s mother-in-law, but also an etiquette consultant and certified tea specialist through the Specialty Tea Institute (Levels I & II), with a genuine passion for the timeless tradition of afternoon tea.

Through her business, Tea for You & Etiquette Too!, Lynda has brought elegant high tea experiences directly into people’s homes, complete with beautiful china, fine linens, homemade lemon curd, delicate pastries, and every thoughtful detail that transforms an afternoon into a cherished memory.

More than her impressive credentials, Lynda has a remarkable gift for hospitality and making people feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

We are honored that she’ll be sharing her knowledge, her love of tea, and a few etiquette tips while helping us create a truly memorable Christmas High Tea. We know you’ll leave with a full heart, wonderful memories, and perhaps a few new tea traditions to enjoy with those you love.

Based on Judee Southern’s long-awaited book Motherhood Is a Circus, this uplifting one-day retreat explores the surprising ways God uses the beautiful chaos of motherhood to shape our hearts.

Just as every act in a circus serves a purpose, the everyday joys, challenges, interruptions, and unexpected moments of raising children become opportunities for God to develop patience, flexibility, humility, humor, self-control, self-worth, and unconditional love within us.

Through laughter, storytelling, biblical encouragement, practical tools, and meaningful discussion, you’ll discover that while you are raising your children, God is faithfully raising you into the woman He created you to be.

Come be refreshed, encouraged, and reminded that the sacred work happening in your home is also the sacred work God is doing within you.

Sometimes our deepest wounds come from the very places where we expected to find love, acceptance, and safety.

Whether you’ve experienced spiritual abuse, judgment, rejection, hypocrisy, or simply felt forgotten by your faith community, this retreat offers a compassionate place to process your story.

Together we’ll explore how to heal from church hurt, separate God’s heart from people’s failures, and rediscover hope, faith, and the freedom to move forward.

There is a kind of exhaustion that few people ever see.

It comes from living in a constant state of vigilance—always advocating, always anticipating, always planning, always praying.

It is the emotional weight of IEP meetings, therapy appointments, medical decisions, sleepless nights, financial strain, difficult behaviors, and carrying concerns that rarely leave your heart.

Little by little, it can feel as though you are being drained down to zero… yet somehow you keep getting up each morning and doing it all again because your child needs you.

If that describes your life, we want you to know something: we see you.

This retreat isn’t about fixing your child. It is about caring for the mother. It is a day to breathe deeply, be understood, laugh a little, cry if you need to, and be reminded that you are not walking this journey alone.

Come and allow us to encourage, equip, and pour back into the woman who spends so much of her life pouring into everyone else.

  • Living with chronic stress and caregiver fatigue
  • Navigating diagnoses, therapies, IEPs, and appointments
  • Grieving unmet expectations while celebrating your child’s unique gifts
  • Finding practical support and resources
  • Caring for yourself without guilt
  • Connecting with other mothers who truly understand
  • Renewing hope and strength for the journey ahead
  • Comforting your child in the face of bullying or exclusion

Divorce is so much more than the ending of a marriage.

It often brings the loss of dreams, identity, routines, friendships, financial security, traditions, and the future you believed you were building.

Many people experience overwhelming anxiety, depression, insomnia, panic attacks, grief, difficulty concentrating, and even physical illness as their bodies struggle to process profound emotional trauma.

Everyday decisions suddenly feel overwhelming, and the future can seem frightening and uncertain.

Whether your divorce was unexpected, unwanted, or ultimately necessary for your safety and well-being, this retreat is designed to help you find your footing again.

Together we’ll explore the emotional roller coaster of grief, betrayal, loneliness, co-parenting challenges, rebuilding confidence, navigating practical decisions, setting healthy boundaries, and rediscovering who you are beyond your pain.

Most importantly, you’ll leave with renewed hope, practical tools, meaningful connections, and the assurance that while divorce may become part of your story, it does not have to define the rest of your life.

As parents, we often imagine how our children’s lives will unfold.

When their journey takes an unexpected direction, it can leave us wrestling with grief, confusion, fear, guilt, unanswered questions, and a deep longing to preserve the relationship.

This compassionate retreat is designed for Christian parents who want to navigate these seasons with wisdom, grace, and hope.

Together, we’ll explore how to love deeply, communicate well, establish healthy boundaries, and trust God with the parts of our children’s stories we cannot control.

Throughout the day, we’ll thoughtfully discuss topics such as:

🌹 When your child identifies as LGBTQ+

🌹 When your child walks away from their faith

🌹 Addiction and substance abuse

🌹 Mental illness and emotional struggles

🌹 Destructive or unhealthy relationships

🌹 Legal troubles or incarceration

🌹 Estrangement and broken family relationships

🌹 Adult children making choices that conflict with your values

🌹 Releasing guilt and the burden of believing you “failed”

🌹 Loving without enabling

🌹 Setting healthy, biblical boundaries

🌹 Preserving relationship while honoring your convictions

🌹 Finding peace, hope, and renewed trust in God’s faithfulness

No matter what chapter your family is living through, you are not alone. This retreat is not about having all the answers—it’s about discovering how to walk forward with courage, compassion, and confidence that God is still at work in both your heart and your child’s story.

For many women, the empty nest marks the end of one of life’s most meaningful seasons—but it can also be the beginning of another.

Whether you’re married, single, divorced, or widowed, this inspiring retreat is designed to help you embrace the future with renewed hope, purpose, and confidence.

Together, we’ll reflect on the lessons we’ve learned, celebrate the strengths God has developed within us, and begin dreaming about the years still ahead.

Through meaningful conversations, practical exercises, and the creation of a personalized vision board, you’ll discover new ways to use your gifts, experiences, and wisdom to bless others, create a lasting legacy for your family, and perhaps even build something you’ve always dreamed of.

The most beautiful chapters of your story may still be waiting to be written.

🌹 Reflect on the lessons that shaped your life

🌹 Discover your unique gifts and strengths

🌹 Create a vision board for your next season

🌹 Explore ways to transform your experience into purpose

🌹 Learn how your story can become a blessing to others

🌹 Brainstorm meaningful ministries, businesses, hobbies, or creative projects

🌹 Consider the legacy you want to leave your children and grandchildren

🌹 Leave with practical goals, fresh inspiration, and hope for the future

Because your greatest contribution to the world may not be behind you—it may still be ahead.

You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone.

Life has a way of leaving invisible wounds.

Our hope is that each retreat becomes a place where burdens grow lighter, friendships grow deeper, and hope grows stronger.

Whether you attend one retreat or every retreat throughout the year, we’d be honored to walk beside you as you discover healing, purpose, and joy in the next chapter of your story.

Because the best is yet to come.

There is extraordinary courage in saying, “This is my story” .. and there can be extraordinary healing when another woman gently replies, “Me too.” WE SAVED YOU A SEAT… Whatever you are carrying… Whatever invisible pain may be hidden beneath your smile… We hope you’ll join us.
